How much does the fare cost?
The fare depends on the fare of the city. For more information see full price list.
How about in cities where the first 15 minutes are free?
You get 15 minutes free for each ride. However, there must be a minimum of 10 minutes between each ride.
Does the credit expire?
The travel credit has no expiry date and can be used in 27 countries worldwide.
What do monthly and annual subscriptions mean?
The monthly subscription includes an extra 30 minutes of each free ride on a given city fare and is automatically extended. Annual subscriptions work the same way, only the price is more affordable. There must be a minimum of 10 minutes between each ride.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Monthly and annual subscriptions can be cancelled directly in the app in the settings/preferred tariffs section or on the nextbike website in your customer account.
I have a Multisport card. How can I use it?
Multisport benefit cards give you the opportunity to use shared bikes 2x60 per day absolutely free*. Just pair your Multisport card to your nextbike account in the partner connections section and you're ready to go.
The total discount also applies to the competing Rekola service. The number of free rentals is limited to 2x60 free minutes per day on both services combined.
I have a PID Lítačka. How can I use it?
If you have an active PID Lítačka coupon, you can use nextbike in Prague for 2 x 15 minutes per day for free. Just pair your Lítačka with your nextbike account in the Subscriptions/Partner Benefits section and you're good to go.
The total discount also applies to the competing service Rekola. The number of free rentals is limited to 2x15 free minutes per day on both services combined.
I have a Edenred card. How can I use it?
You can also pay for nextbike rides with your Edenred card. Just verify your account with your Edenred card when you register and you're ready to go. If you already have an account with us and want to start riding on Edenred credit, in the Account Settings/Payment section, remove your existing payment method and replace it with your Edenred card details.
How do I know if my e-bike is charged?
We currently have two types of electric bikes in the Czech Republic. For the e-bikes in Beroun, which you can find in charging terminals, you can see the battery status on the frame of the e-bike. The state of charge is indicated by LEDs on the frame of the bike. In the case of bikes in Kladno, Mladá Boleslav and Zlín, where there are no charging terminals, you can see the state of charge directly in the nextbike app by clicking on the bike.
It's my first time here. How can I get going fast?
If you have a smartphone, download the nextbike app. Register, add your first name, last name, email and choose your payment method - credit card.
You verify your card by paying 50 CZK, which is automatically transferred to your entry ride credit and your account is active. Once you arrive at the bike, you scan its QR code and the lock opens.
Can I rent a bike without a smartphone?
Yes, if you don't have a smartphone, you can register on our website www.nextbikeczech.com and follow the same activation process as for the mobile app. Once you're at the bike you want to rent, you call our customer service line with the phone number you're registered with and once you've selected the bike number, the system will rent the bike remotely. You end the rental by returning it to any official station in your city by locking the lock over the rear wheel.
How do I know the official station in the app?
The app includes a map with stations where you can rent or return bikes. Click on the balloon on the map to see the station and its number. If you only see the bike number, it is a bike parked outside the station.
How do I know the official station in town?
First, orient yourself to the location of the station based on the map in the app. Physical stations are often municipal or commercial racks, or designated and marked spots on the road where you just put your bike on the rack and lock your bike.
How do I end a rent?
To end the rent, just manually pull down the lock above the rear wheel and the loan will end after a beep. You don't need to make any selections in the app, but we recommend checking that the end is correct.
What happens if I don't return the bike to the official station?
Returning the bike outside the official station is subject to a service fee according to the price list.
What is the "Flex Zone"?
The flex zone is an extended area into which the bike may be returned with impunity and thus passes as an extended official station. Flex zones are only in certain cities and are marked on the map with blue highlights.
I created a nextbike account in the Czech Republic. Can I use nextbike abroad?
Yes, you can use nextbike bikes in 27 countries, just be aware of the different rates.
Can I rent a bike outside the station?
There is no extra charge for renting a bike from outside the station. Rentals are subject to the normal price list and you must return the bike to the official station. The only penalty is for returning the bike outside the station.
Where and when can I rent bikes?
Bikes are available 24 hours a day and you can check availability on the app's map.
I need to get off my bike, but I don't want anyone to take it away from me. How do I do that?
In the app, you select park mode and manually lock the lock. In parking mode you can leave your bike outside the station, but beware, the rental is still running. When you come back to your bike, deactivate the parking mode in the nextbike app by instructing the lock to open, it will open and you can continue riding.
How many bikes can I borrow per nextbike account?
You can borrow up to 4 bikes per account. Special promotions and free minutes apply to the first bike rented.
How do I check in the app that the bike is OK to return?
Update the app when you return your bike to see your ride history and status.
Can I ride my nextbike on the pavement?
Nextbike bikes belong on the road or designated trails.
I have a problem / Bike specifications
I rented a bike, but the lock wouldn't open.
If the lock doesn't open, it may be because it is in the same position as the rear wheel spokes and one of the wires is preventing it from popping out. In this case, just turn the rear wheel a few millimeters and instruct the app to open the lock again.
I accidentally unlocked a bike I'm not on. What now?
Call us weekdays 9:00 - 17:00, otherwise email or message us on social media. We can also resolve the situation retrospectively.
I couldn't return the bike back.
If you can't pull the lock all the way down and the bike is still on loan, turn the rear wheel a few millimetres and repeat. If the beep sounds, the rental is complete.
How do I report a problem with my loaner or a defect on my bike?
The easiest way is to leave feedback directly in our app. You can add a comment about the technical condition of your bike or a problem with your loaner and our customer team will respond shortly. Alternatively, you can call our customer service line (+420 581 652 047) or send an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or a social media message on weekdays 9:00 - 17:00.
Does the bike have safety features?
Of course, the bikes don't lack front and rear lights. In addition, they have reflective elements around the perimeter of the tyres.
Where do I turn on the lights on my bike?
The lights turn on and off automatically. The lights go off about one minute after the wheel is turned back on.
What is the load capacity of the bike?
The load capacity of the bike is 150 kg. The load capacity of the basket is 5 kg.
Is there any difference between mechanical bikes and e-bikes?
The only difference is that e-bikes are only rented and returned from official terminals where the bikes are charged. If the terminal is full, you can return the bike next to the terminal by manually pressing the lock above the rear wheel and our service team will make sure the bike is taken to a free terminal.
How far can I go on a full e-bike battery?
On average, you can travel 50 km on an e-bike.
