Your travel guide to Prague has just been enhanced! With the new route planner in the PID Lítačka app, you have the opportunity to find the most advantageous and fastest connections through a combination of shared and public transportation, trains, taxis, or walking. And this from any address and with real-time delays of individual connections. Combine public transport and nextbike and ride around Prague flexibly.

The route planner in the PID Lítačka app offers comprehensive journey planning from point A to point B. The planner includes not only public transport but also the option to use shared bikes. This new feature is handy for anyone who wants to travel flexibly around Prague and the Central Bohemian Region without regard to timetables. Unlike other route planners that offer only one form of transport or combine modes of transport separately, the planner in the PID Lítačka app is fully intermodal. This means that it allows for the combination of various modes of transport in one route, which is unique not only in the Czech Republic but also in the world. Users can select services from various private providers in the app, including our shared bikes nextbike.

Smart connection of transport modes

The route planner utilizes real-time information on delays and the location of connections, ensuring that it displays only transfers with sufficient time intervals. This allows passengers, for example, to discover that they have enough time to transfer to a connection they wouldn’t catch according to the regular timetable.

Comfortable journey from door to door

The PID Lítačka app now allows you to start your journey from any address, meaning users are not restricted to public transport stops as with traditional searches. Another innovation is the more precise calculation of walking routes.

2000 users in the trial version

The most important role in the development of the planner was played by the users themselves. More than 2,000 users participated in the trial phase and provided valuable feedback, which helped improve the route planner and tailor it to the various needs of users.

The route planner is currently available in beta version but is in full operational mode. This means that all features are running at full capacity. However, due to the huge database and its complex real-time calculation, unforeseen situations or minor errors may occur, which are continually being addressed, and the app continues to improve.
